Disputar la Realidad (Ficciones radicales en los linderos del campo de lo artístico)

The dispute of the real (Radical fictions on the borders of the artistic field)

This conference seeks to question the criteria from which we attribute its fictitious or real character to something.
The central idea is that things are not fictional or real, but can be (and often are) fictional and real at the same time, that fiction and reality are not separate spaces that function as containers, but categories that operate through complex interactions and gradations.
Through a historical review of practices, works, myths, instruments and effects that both individuals and groups and institutions have carried out in the fields of art, lies, falsification, models, secrets, impostures, espionage and conspiracy. This overhaul does not pretend to be definitive. It seeks to develop the idea that fiction and reality are not closed and opposed concepts, but merely parameters that need to be constantly reformulated.
